California vs. USC

Both Cal and USC are coming off a bye week entering their Thursday night matchup. The Golden Bears broke a three-game losing streak on Nov. 1 with a 45-31 win over Oregon State. Cal is 5-4 on the season after starting the year 4-1. The Trojans have won three of their last four games, including a 44-17 win over Washington State on Nov. 1. USC is 6-3 on the season.

California

11/1: Cal 45, Oregon State 31 

Jared Goff threw for 227 yards and one touchdown in the win, and Daniel Lasco added three touchdowns and 188 yards on the ground. The Bears had 34 first downs and were 11-of-19 on third down conversions. James Langford kicked three field goals, including a 47-yarder. 

10/24: Oregon, 59, Cal 41

Cal dropped its third straight game with the loss to Oregon. Jared Goff threw for 360 yards and two touchdowns, completing 32-of-52 passes. The Bears had 560 yards of total offense, but they were still outgained by the Ducks, who had 590. Cal had 30 first downs in the game but lost 111 yards on penalties. 

10/18: UCLA 36, Cal 34

Cal had the ball in UCLA territory late in the fourth quarter, but Jared Goff had a pass picked off at the 2-yard line with less than a minute remaining. Goff completed 25 of 41 pass attempts for 303 yards with two touchdowns and the one interception. The Bears managed only 56 rushing yards on 31 attempts.

10/11: Washington 31, Cal 7

Washington jumped out to a 28-point halftime lead and the win against a Cal team that committed three turnovers, including a fumble that led to a 100-yard return by Shaq Thompson for the first score of the game. The lone touchdown for Cal came from Daniel Lasco, who also rushed for 71 yards.

10/4: Cal 60, Washington State 59

With 3:18 remaining, Jared Goff connected with Trevor Davis on a 51-yard touchdown pass to lift the Bears over Washington State. Goff finished the game with 527 passing yards and five touchdowns. Bryce Treggs amassed 120 yards on 10 catches and two touchdowns. Cal won despite giving up 812 yards of offense.

9/27: Cal 59, Colorado 56 (2OT)

A James Langford field goal from 34 yards out sealed the win over Colorado for the Bears. Jared Goff finished the game with 458 passing yards and seven touchdowns, while Stephen Anderson finished with 136 yards and a touchdown on seven catches.

9/20: Arizona 49, Cal 45

Cal held the lead as time waned in the first road game of their season, but a 47-yard Hail Mary pass from Anu Solomon to Austin Hill gave Arizona the win. Daniel Lasco led Cal out of the backfield with 123 yards on 20 carries and Bryce Treggs tallied 119 yards and a touchdown on five catches.

9/6: Cal 55, Sacramento State 14

Jared Goff threw for 229 yards with four touchdowns and no interceptions, as the Bears racked up 581 yards of total offense. Cal led by as much as 45-0 late in the third quarter, scoring on each of their first seven drives.

8/30: Cal 31, Northwestern 24

Jared Goff finished the game with 281 passing yards and three touchdowns, while Trevor Davis finished with 93 yards and a touchdown on just three catches. Jalen Jefferson earned his third career sack and second career interception on the same drive in the fourth quarter, helping Cal seal the win.

USC

11/1: USC 44, Washington State 17

Cody Kessler threw for 400 yards and five touchdowns, including an 87-yard touchdown pass to Nelson Agholor, to lift the Trojans. Agholor also had a 65-yard touchdown on a punt return to open the game's scoring. JuJu Smith had three touchdowns on six catches for 74 yards. 

10/25: USC 21, Utah 24

Cody Kessler threw for 264 yards, two touchdowns and an interception in the loss. USC took a 21-17 lead with 10 minutes remaining in the fourth quarter, but Kaelin Clay caught a 1-yard pass with eight seconds remaining to give Utah the win. The Trojans had 364 total yards and two turnovers. 

10/18: Colorado 28, USC 56

Quarterback Cody Kessler threw for 318 yards and seven touchdowns, breaking Matt Barkley's school record set against the Buffaloes in 2011. Nelson Agholor caught three of Kessler's touchdowns. He had six receptions for 128 yards.

10/11: USC 28, Arizona 26

The Trojans held off a two-point conversion try with 1:07 to go and survived a potential go-ahead field goal with 12 seconds remaining. Javorius Allen rushed for 205 yards and three touchdowns for USC. The Trojans allowed the Wildcats inside the 20-yard line four times in the first half, but surrendered only six points.

10/04: Arizona State 38, USC 34

Mike Bercovici hit Jaelen Strong on a 46-yard Hail Mary as time expired to lift the Sun Devils to an improbable win. USC led 34-25 with 3:02 to go after Javorius Allen’s 53-yard touchdown run. It was the Trojans’ first loss at the Coliseum to Arizona State since 1999.

09/27: USC 35, Oregon State 10

Cody Kessler threw for 261 yards and two touchdowns for the Trojans. Su’a Cravens returned an interception 31 yards for a touchdown. USC trailed 10-7 in the second quarter before running off 28 unanswered points.

09/13: Boston College 37, USC 31

The Trojans were held to 20 yards rushing on 29 carries. Cody Kessler threw for 317 yards and four touchdowns on 31-of-41 passing, but was sacked five times. USC had a 17-6 lead early in the second quarter before Boston College ran off 24 unanswered points.

09/06: USC 13, Stanford 10

Andre Heidari kicked a career-long 53-yard field goal with 2:30 to go for USC. J.R. Tavai forced a fumble to end Stanford’s final drive. Javorius Allen ran for a career-best 154 yards.

08/30: USC 52, Fresno State 13

Steve Sarkisian won his USC coaching debut, the seventh straight coach to do so, joining Paul Hackett (1998), Pete Carroll (2001), Lane Kiffin (2010), Ed Orgeron (2013) and Clay Helton (2013). The Trojans’ 704 total yards was their most since putting up 745 against Washington State in 2005. USC set a Pac-12 record with 105 offensive plays, breaking a mark set by Arizona (103) in an overtime game against Stanford in 2012.
