Florida forward Dorian Finney-Smith has a hairline fracture in his wrist but might be able to play in the Gators' next game Monday against Miami, according to Chris Harry of the team's official website.

The redshirt junior injured his left wrist several minutes into Florida's season opener against William & Mary on Friday night. He later returned to the game wearing a wrap on the wrist and played 22 minutes, scoring a team-high 15 points and recording five rebounds.

Finney-Smith went to a hospital for X-rays after the game. His status for Monday's game hasn't yet been determined, but head coach Billy Donovan said Friday night that he was hopeful Finney-Smith would be available Monday.

KEITH: Observations from opening night

“I would assume he’d be able to play just because we were able to throw him back in the game there tonight,” Donovan said, according to the Florida Alligator. “So I would imagine if he could play tonight after it happening, I would think that on Monday he could play.”

Finney-Smith, a former transfer from Virginia Tech, was the SEC's Sixth Man of the Year last season after averaging 8.7 points and 6.7 rebounds per game.

The Gators went 36-3 last season and advanced to the Final Four before losing to Connecticut.
