Georgia Bulldogs vs. Charleston Southern Buccaneers

After Georgia defeated Auburn 34-7 last week, the Bulldogs jumped five spots in the College Football Playoff rankings. Georgia now waits to see if Missouri loses to Tennessee this week, or Arkansas next week, as either loss would put the Bulldogs in the SEC Championship game. After beating Liberty 38-36 last weekend, Charleston Southern moved to 8-3; with a 3-2 conference record, the Buccaneers are now tied for third in the Big South.

11/15: Georgia 34, Auburn 7

In his first game since Oct. 4, Todd Gurley rushed 29 times for 138 yards and a touchdown; freshman Nick Chubb, who filled in for Gurley in his absence, added 144 yards and two touchdowns. Gurley left the game early, hobbling off the field with a knee injury. The Bulldogs completed their conference schedule against Auburn; should Missouri lose one its remaining two games, the Bulldogs would claim the division title.

11/01: Florida 38, Georgia 20

Georgia quarterback Hutson Mason threw for 319 yards compared to just 27 passing yards by Florida QB Treon Harris, but Georgia lost for the first time since Sept. 13. The Bulldogs defense gave up 418 rushing yards and were down 31-7 at one point in the fourth quarter. Nick Chubb rushed for 156 yards on 21 carries. 

10/18: Georgia 45, Arkansas 32

The Bulldogs became the first non-SEC West team to defeat an SEC West team with the win. Georgia's 38 first half points were the most in an SEC game since 1984. Nick Chubb ran for a career-high 202 yards on 30 carries and had two touchdowns.

10/11: Georgia 34, Missouri 0

The Bulldogs shut out the Tigers while playing without Todd Gurley for the first time. Nick Chubb rushed for 143 yards and one touchdown and added four catches for 31 yards. Brendan Douglas rushed for 65 yards and a score. The Bulldog defense held Missouri under 200 yards of total offense while forcing five turnovers. 

10/4: Vanderbilt 17, Georgia 44

Running back Todd Gurley and quarterback Hutson Mason led the way for the Bulldogs in a rout of the Commodores. Gurley rushed for 163 yards and two touchdowns, while Mason connected on 11-of-17 passes for 121 yards, two scores and an interception. Georgia jumped out to a 21-0 lead that was too much for Vanderbilt to overcome. 

09/27: Tennessee 32, Georgia 35​

The offense was led once again by Todd Gurley, who rushed for a career-high 208 yards and two touchdowns. The Bulldogs' defense gave up a late touchdown to the Volunteers, but Georgia recovered the ensuing onside kick and was able to run out the clock. Hutson Mason had his first career multi-interception game.

09/20: Troy 0, Georgia 66

Todd Gurley was pulled after 73 yards on just six carries, but backup Sony Michel picked up right where Gurley left off. Michel rushed for 155 yards and three touchdowns. Ten different Bulldog receivers hauled in a catch, but Michael Bennett (three) was the only player to make more than two grabs. Georgia's defense forced two turnovers and limited the Troy offense to just 216 yards.

09/13: South Carolina 38, Georgia 35

The Bulldogs lost their SEC opener to the Gamecocks in Columbia after Marshall Morgan missed a game-tying 28-yard field goal attempt with 4:24 left in the fourth quarter. Hutson Mason threw for 191 yards and two touchdowns, while Todd Gurley had another big game with 131 yards and a touchdown. 

08/30: Clemson 21, Georgia 45​

Todd Gurley set a school record with 293 all-purpose yards in the season-opening win. Gurley returned a kick 100 yards for a touchdown and added 198 yards and three more touchdowns on the ground. Nick Chubb and Hutson Mason ran in the remaining two scores for the Bulldogs. 

Charleston Southern

The Buccaneers are coming off a narrow 38-36 victory over Liberty last weekend. The win was Charleston Southern’s third straight, and has improved the team’s likelihood of receiving an at-large bid to the FCS playoffs. Quarterback Austin Brown has appeared in all 11 games, completing 52.8 percent of his passes for 1,833 yards and throwing for 11 touchdowns. Running back Christian Reyes has led the team’s rushing attack, carrying 160 times for 871 yards and seven touchdowns. The team ranks 13th in the FCS in total defense, yielding 302.5 yards per game, and 17th in scoring defense, allowing 19 points per game.
