Indiana running back Tevin Coleman eclipsed 2,000 yards rushing on the season during Saturday's 23-16 win over Purdue.

Coleman, a junior, is the first player in program history and the 18th player in FBS history to achieve the feat.

Coleman, who entered Saturday's game with 1,906 rushing yards, passed 2,000 on an eight-yard run in the fourth quarter. He left the game with an apparent ankle injury but returned after getting re-taped and finished with 130 yards on 29 carries.

The 6-foot-1, 210-pounder was recently named a finalist for the Doak Walker Award recognizing the nation's premier running back. One of the other finalists, Wisconsin's Melvin Gordon, has also eclipsed 2,000 yards.

Indiana finishes the season with a 4-8 (1-7 Big Ten) record.
