Georgia head coach Mark Richt said on his radio show on Monday that he expects injured running back Todd Gurley to be taken high in next year’s NFL Draft.

Gurley torn the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee in Georgia's 34-7 win over Auburn on Nov. 15 and had surgery last week. Richt said Gurley would “still be a very high draft pick in this draft.”

“Todd is recovering very well," Richt said, according to the Athens Banner-Herald. "It was very sad the day that it happened, but his spirits are good, he’s working hard. He’s going to be healthy before you know it.”

Gurley rushed for 911 yards and scored nine touchdowns in only six games this season. He was suspended for a total of four games for accepting more than $3,000 for autographed memorabilia and other items. Gurley has not said that he would skip his senior season to enter the draft.

During the radio show, a caller asked Richt about rumors linking his name to the Nebraska job. Nebraska fired coach Bo Pelini on Sunday after a 9-3 season.

“I don’t know about all that,” Richt said. “I don’t know where all that stuff comes from. Maybe it’s because I was born in Nebraska. I don’t know. Georgia’s our home. We love it. This is where we want to be. This is where we want to win championships and this is where we plan on getting it done.”
