Louisiana Tech Bulldogs at Marshall Thundering Herd

Louisiana Tech (8-4, 7-1 C-USA) and Marshall (11-1, 7-1 C-USA) meet Saturday for the Conference USA title at Edwards Stadium in Huntington, W.Va., Marshall’s home stadium. Marshall’s dream of an undefeated season was wrecked by an overtime loss to Western Kentucky last week, while Louisiana Tech destroyed Rice 76-24 to clinch the West division of the conference.

11/28: Western Kentucky 67, Marshall 66 (OT)

Brandon Doughty threw a two-point conversation to Willie McNeal in overtime, spoiling Marshall’s perfect season and dashing the Herd's hopes of a possible playoff berth. Doughty threw a conference-record eight touchdowns and the Hilltoppers were paced by Leon Allen’s 237 rushing yards. The teams combined for 1,446 total yards. Rakeem Cato threw seven touchdowns but was picked off four times, allowing Western Kentucky open up a 21-point first half lead.

11/22: Marshall 23, UAB 18

Marshall defensive lineman Ra'shawde Myers recovered a fumble in the end zone for the winning score with eight minutes left in the first game all season Marshall won by less than 15 points. Jordan Howard of UAB ran for 168 yards and two touchdowns as the two teams combined to get called for 19 accepted penalties.

11/15: Marshall 41, Rice 14

Rakeem Cato broke a school record with this 117th career touchdown pass and also extended his FBS record by throwing a touchdown pass in his 42nd consecutive game, while Devon Johnson ran for 199 yards in leading Marshall to victory. Rice’s six game winning streak was broken as the Owls only generated 180 yards of offense and 15 first downs.

11/29: Louisiana Tech 76, Rice 21

Tech clinched the Conference USA West as Cody Sokol threw for 387 yards and four touchdown passes, while Kenneth Dixon rushed for 137 yards with three more scores. At one point, Louisiana Tech scored 41 unanswered points turn a four-point third quarter lead into a rout and was the Bulldogs also recovered two fumbles for touchdowns and intercepted Driphus Jackson three times.

11/22:Old Dominion 30, Louisiana Tech 27 OT

Old Dominion quarterback Taylor Heinicke threw two touchdowns, including an eight-yard strike to David Washington in overtime to propel the FCS school to victory. Tech took the lead in overtime with a 25-yard Kyle Fischer field goal. Heinicke threw four interceptions, and Louisiana Tech blew a 10-point halftime lead.

11/8: Louisiana Tech 40, UAB 24

Cody Sokol had three touchdowns and Kenneth Dixon ran for 79 yards and scored three touchdowns. UAB running back Jordan Howard had 148 yards rushing for the Blazers. Each team turned the ball over three times, and UAB scored on a fumble return and a kickoff return.
