Florida State running back Dalvin Cook linked to assault
Florida State running back Dalvin Cook has been linked to a July assault in which two men allegedly brandished a firearm, according to a statement released Wednesday by the Tallahassee Police Department.
Cook is listed as an associate in the case, which is still under investigation, the statement says.
Cook, a true freshman, leads the Seminoles with 905 rushing yards this season. He recorded a combined 321 rushing yards in consecutive wins over Florida and Georgia Tech to close the regular season.
The TPD announced on Wednesday that it has released more than 300 police records related to Florida State athletes in response to a public records request from ESPN.

The TPD has come under scrutiny for its handling of incidents involving Florida State's football players, including a sexual assault allegation against quarterback Jameis Winston. Multiple investigative reports by national outlets have shone a critical light on the department.
