Report: Ex-Miami coach Randy Shannon joining Florida staff
Ex-Miami (FL) coach Randy Shannon will join Florida's coaching staff as linebackers coach and recruiting coordinator, according to multiple reports.
The news was first reported and confirmed by InAllKindsOfWeather.com.
Florida recently fired Will Muschamp and replaced him with former Colorado State coach Jim McElwain.
Shannon, a linebacker on the Hurricanes' 1987 championship team, coached Miami from 2007-2010, finishing with a 28-22 record. He spent the last two seasons as the linebackers coach at Arkansas.

The Gators finished No. 8 nationally in yards allowed per game this season at 311.0 per game. The offense, however, struggled and finished No. 90 in the country with just 370.2 yards of total offense per game.
The Gators finished the regular season 6-5 and play East Carolina in the Birmingham Bowl on Jan. 3.
