Ohio State wide receiver Michael Thomas made a tough 13-yard touchdown catch with 12 seconds remaining in the second quarter of the Sugar Bowl on a pass by fellow receiver Evan Spencer. The score cut Alabama's lead to 21-20 at halftime.
The trick play occurred after quarterback Cardale Jones handed off to running back Jalin Marshall, who then tossed it to Spencer, who found Thomas in the end zone.

The play was reviewed by the referees to see if Thomas' foot was inbounds, and the catch stood.
It was Thomas' ninth touchdown catch of the season.
