Stanford F Reid Travis out indefinitely with stress fracture
Stanford forward Reid Travis is out indefinitely with a stress fracture, the school announced on Friday.
Over 11 games this season, Travis has averaged 7.5 points and 6.9 rebounds.
The 6-foot-8, 245 pound freshman was given a four-star rating and ranked the No. 44 prospect in the class of 2014 by the recruiting website Rivals.com.
The Cardinal (8-3), picked to finish fifth in the Pac-12 in a preseason poll, opens conference play on Friday against Washington State. Stanford beat Washington State three times last year, including a 74-63 win in the first round of the Pac-12 tournament.
Stanford has won two straight, beginning with an overtime road win at Texas on Dec. 23. Travis played 32 minutes, scoring seven points and grabbing 14 rebounds.
One game prior, a 79-77 road loss to BYU on Dec. 20, Travis scored a career-high 15 points and grabbed six rebounds.
