Maryland receiver Stefon Diggs will declare for NFL draft
Maryland receiver Stefon Diggs will enter the NFL draft, he told the Baltimore Sun's Matt Zenitz Sunday.
Diggs, a junior, was a second-team All-Big Ten selection this season. He had 52 catches for 654 yards in nine games this season.
Diggs was suspended for the Terrapins' game against Michigan State after a confrontation before the team's game against Penn State. He missed the final two games of the regular season with a kidney injury, but returned for the team's bowl game against Stanford. Diggs closed out his college career with 10 catches for 138 yards in the game.
• Florida's Jeff Driskel given permission to transfer
Diggs was a five-star high school recruit and made an immediate impact as a freshman in 2012. Diggs averaged 172.8 all-purpose yards per game in his first college season, the eighth-best average in the country. He had 1,896 all-purpose yards in 11 games, the most since current Baltimore Ravens receiver Torrey Smith had 2,192 in 2009.
Diggs' sophomore season was cut short by a shoulder injury. He missed the Terps' last six games but was still an honorable mention All-ACC choice.
