Ohio State is No. 1 in the final college football Associated Press poll, which was released Monday night after the Buckeyes' 42-20 victory over Oregon in the national championship game.

It’s the fifth time (1942, 1954, 1968, 2002, 2014) the Buckeyes have ended a season atop the AP poll, which ties them with USC and Miami (Fla.) but behind Alabama (9), Notre Dame (8) and Oklahoma (7) for most all-time.

Oregon is second in the poll, and TCU is third after its 42-3 rout of Ole Miss in the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl. The Horned Frogs jumped ahead of the two other College Football Playoff semifinalists, Alabama and Florida State, who finished fourth and fifth, respectively.

Michigan State tied with the Seminoles for fifth. Baylor, Georgia Tech, Georgia and UCLA rounded out the top 10, respectively.

Mississippi State, Arizona State, Wisconsin, Missouri and Clemson are next in the poll, followed by Boise State, Ole Miss, Kansas State, Arizona, USC.

Utah is No. 20, with Auburn, Marshall, Louisville and Memphis completing the poll.

Memphis finished 10-3 after a 55-48 double-overtime win over BYU in the Miami Beach Bowl that featured a brawl at the end of the game. The Tigers make their first appearance in the Top 25 since Sept. 2004.
