Former USC interim coach Ed Orgeron has been hired as LSU's defensive line coach, the school announced on Wednesday.

Orgeron began his playing career at LSU, before transferring to Northwestern (LA) State.

One of Orgeron's strengths is recruiting, so his addition to the LSU staff will help the Tigers in a number of areas. Orgeron was the Ole Miss head coach from 2005-2007 and recruited the likes of Michael Oher, Mike Wallace and Dexter McCluster.
His recruiting success landed him in a role in the movie The Blind Side where he played himself in the story of Oher's rise to prominence.
LSU finished 8-5 this season, ending the year with a loss to Notre Dame in the Music City Bowl.
