SMU guard Keith Frazier will remain academically ineligible after losing his appeal to the NCAA, according to a report from The Dallas Morning News.

Earlier this month, Frazier was reportedly ruled ineligible because of academics for the remainder of the season barring the appeal.

Frazier is allowed to attend meetings and practices but cannot travel with the team, the report says.

“As of now, he’s back in school and we’ve got everything in place for him to do the things he needs to graduate,” SMU coach Larry Brown said, according to the report. “I know that’s his goal.”

Shortly after a report of Frazier's ineligibility surfaced, SMU confirmed that it had received a Notice of Allegations from the NCAA.

The notice reportedly includes allegations of academic improprieties in the men's basketball program.

The Mustangs (15-4) host Houston on Saturday.
