Butler's Andrew Chrabascz out two to four weeks with broken hand

Butler Bulldogs forward Andrew Chrabascz will miss the next two to four weeks with a broken hand, according to a release from the athletic department.

Butler Bulldogs forward Andrew Chrabascz will miss the next two to four weeks with a broken hand, according to a release from the athletic department. 

Chrabascz, the Bulldogs' starting forward, sustained the injury during the second half of the Bulldogs' 68-65 loss Saturday to No. 6 Villanova. He continued to play with the injury.

A report earlier Sunday suggested Chrabascz would miss between three and six weeks with a finger injury.

"We know Andrew is disappointed and we are disappointed for him, but we are looking forward to having him back soon when he is fully healthy," said Butler head coach Chris Holtmann. "He has been an important part of this team's growth, and as with any injury, this will provide an opportunity for our team to respond in a positive way. We know Drew will be working hard to return at the appropriate time."

Chrabascz is the team's third-leading scorer, with 11.1 points and 3.7 rebounds per game. Of the Bulldogs' five starters, Chrabascz is used the fewest amount of minutes, at an average of 27.2 per game.

If out exactlty four weeks, Chrabascz would miss the rest of Butler's regular-season and Big East tournament games, but be cleared to play on Selection Sunday.

The 18th-ranked Bulldogs (18-7) travel to Creighton tomorrow night to play the Bluejays.
