Florida State's Xavier Rathan-Mayes scores 30 points in final 4:38
Florida State guard Xavier Rathan-Mayes scored 30 points in the final 4:38 of Wednesday's 81-77 loss to Miami.
Rathan-Mayes, a freshman, scored 26 straight points until Seminoles guard Robbie Berwick made a three-pointer with 23 seconds remaining. Rathan-Mayes assisted on the play.
During that stretch, Florida State cut Miami's 62-44 lead to 73-69. Rathan-Mayes also made four free throws in the final seconds, but Miami was able to hold on by sinking its own foul shots.

Rathan-Mayes finished with 35 points on 10-of-19 shooting, including 6-of-11 from three-point range and 9-of-11 from the free throw line. He also added five assists and four rebounds.
The Scarborough, Ontario, native entered the game averaging 13.6 points, 4.4 assists and 3.4 rebounds per game.

Miami (18-10) pulled out the win after both teams scored 52 points in the second half. The loss was the second consecutive for Florida State (15-14).
