Georgia Tech head coach Brian Gregory will return for the 2015-16 season, school officials told ESPN's Andy Katz on Monday.

Gregory and the Yellow Jackets finished 12-19 overall this season and 3-15 in ACC play. Gregory met with athletic director Mike Bobinski last week to discuss the program, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported

After eight seasons as the head coach at Dayton, Gregory took over Georgia Tech in 2011 and has compiled a record of 55-71. He hasn't yet made the postseason with the Yellow Jackets, and his Georgia Tech teams have never finished with more than six ACC wins.

Gregory was hired to replace Paul Hewitt, who made five NCAA tournament appearances in 11 seasons. Georgia Tech owes Hewitt $3.6 million over the next four years from his contract buyout and would have to pay Gregory $2.4 million if he was fired, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
