Wisconsin senior point guard Traevon Jackson returned to practice on Tuesday for the first time since breaking his foot on Jan. 11. Jackson has missed the team’s last 17 games with the injury.

Wisconsin senior point guard Traevon Jackson returned to practice on Tuesday for the first time since breaking his foot on Jan. 11, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel’s Jeff Potrykus reports.

Jackson has missed the team’s last 17 games with the injury. The son of former NBA player Jim Jackson, he helped lead Wisconsin to an appearance in the Final Four last season.

While Jackson did shoot during Tuesday’s practice, he did not give a date for his return to game action.

"It’s just a matter of me now,” said Jackson, who has been cleared by the team's medical staff. “It’s one day at a time, just how I feel. I’m not going back until I’m 100%."

"Honestly, it’s like a 50-50 chance…It’s just a matter of how I feel."

In 17 games this season, Jackson averaged 9.4 points and 2.9 assists while shooting 45.6% from the field.

Sophomore Bronson Koenig has replaced Jackson in the starting lineup. On the season, Koenig has averaged 8.6 points and 2.4 assists while shooting 42.5% from the field.

Wisconsin beat Michigan State on Sunday to win the Big Ten championship. The Badgers are the No. 1 seed in the West Region and open the NCAA tournament on Friday against Coastal Carolina.
