Report: Ex-Iowa QB Jake Rudock transferring to Michigan

Former Iowa quarterback Jake Rudock will transfer to Michigan and be eligible to play immediately as a graduate transfer.

Former Iowa quarterback Jake Rudock will transfer to Michigan and be eligible to play immediately as a graduate transfer, ESPN’s Dan Murphy reports.

Last month, Fox Sports’ Dan Feldman reported Rudock was transferring from Iowa and was set to visit Michigan.

Rudock started the last two seasons for Iowa, leading the Hawkeyes to a 15-11 record. In 2014, he completed 61.7% of his passes for 2,436 yards, 16 touchdowns and five interceptions.

In January, head coach Kirk Ferentz announced junior C.J. Beathardas the team's starting quarterback entering spring practices.

In March, Michigan offensive coordinator Tim Drevno said the battle for team’s starting quarterback position was ‘wide open.’ Before adding Rudock, the Wolverines already had four scholarship quarterbacks—junior Shane Morris, redshirt freshman Wilton Speight, and true freshmen Alex Malzone and Zach Gentry.

Michigan is entering its first season under Jim Harbaugh, who signed a seven-year deal to replace Brady Hoke.
