Iowa State coach Fred Hoiberg shared a hospital video of him walking on Monday after he had successful open-heart surgery on Friday.

Hoiberg, 42, shared the video on Twitter, writing "#progress" to accompany the video.

Hoiberg underwent surgery on Friday at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn., to replace his aortic valve.

"Everything went very well," Dr. Rakesh Suri said in a release from the school. "The operation was a success and Mr. Hoiberg is in recovery and doing very well himself."

Hoiberg retired from the NBA in 2005 after 10 seasons due to heart issues. He underwent surgery in June 2005 to correct an enlarged aortic root.

At Iowa State, Hoiberg has posted a 115–56 record with four NCAA tournament appearances over five seasons. Last month, the Cyclones (25–9) won their second consecutive Big 12 conference tournament championship.

Hoiberg is expected to require four to six weeks to recover from the surgery.
