Indiana guard Yogi Ferrell returning for senior season
Indiana guard Yogi Ferrell will return for his senior season, the school announced Sunday.
Ferrell was reportedly expected to make a formal announcement on Saturday, but that press conference was postponed following the death of Indiana student Hannah Wilson earlier in the week.
The deadline for underclassmen to declare for the June 25 NBA draft is 11:59 p.m. ET Sunday. In considering Ferrell's NBA draft stock earlier this month, SI.com's Michael Beller wrote Ferrell might be better off staying at Indiana, as he could "get lost in that shuffle" of deep point guards in the draft.
A three-year starter at IU, Ferrell averaged 16.3 points, 4.9 assists and 3.2 rebounds last season. The Hoosiers (20–14) lost to Wichita State in the second round of the NCAA tournament last month.
• Texas guard Isaiah Taylor returning for junior season
Ferrell is 33 games away from matching Indiana's records for career starts and appearances.
With Ferrell returning, the Hoosiers will bring back last season's starting lineup after James Blackmon, Jr., and Troy Williamsboth announced their intentions to return earlier this month.

Indiana also landed a commitment from four-star center Thomas Bryant last month. The 6'10", 230-pound center from West Virginia (Huntington Prep) was a McDonald's All American and ranked the No. 37 player in the class 0f 2015 by Rivals.com.
