Auburn DE Elijah Daniel arrested for burglary, suspended indefinitely
Auburn Tigers junior defensive end Elijah Daniel has been suspended indefinitely after being arrested for theft and burglary, according to an AL.com report.
Authorities booked Daniel on four theft of property charges ranging from first to third degree, the report said. He was also booked on four burglary charges and being held on a $24,000 bond.
"I am aware of the situation and Elijah has been suspended indefinitely from our team," Auburn head coach Gus Malzahn said in a statement.
Daniel, a native of Indianapolis, was charged with four counts of theft of property: one charge each in the first and second degree and two charges in the third-degree.
He was also charged with four counts of burglary (one in the second degree, three in the third degree). Two of the theft charges and all four of the burglary counts are felonies.
Class B felonies in the state of Alabama carry a sentence of 2-20 years, Class C felonies are 1-10 years and Class A misdemeanors is punishable by up to a year in jail.
Two others, DeNorris James and Khalil Sellers, were arrested on the same charges.
Daniel had 17 quarterback hurries, 15 tackles and one sack while starting two games during the 2014 season.
Daniel was considered a four-star recruit and a top 10 defensive end in the country coming out of the 2012 high school class.
