Pitt OL Jaryd Jones-Smith (knee) to miss 2015 season

Pittsburgh offensive lineman Jaryd Jones-Smith will miss the upcoming season because of a right knee injury, the Panthers announced on Thursday.
Jones-Smith sustained the injury while working out during the offseason, according to a school news release.
“We are incredibly disappointed for Jaryd,” Pitt coach Pat Narduzzi said. “Our entire team will rally behind him as he works to overcome this challenge. Jaryd is a great young man and a tough competitor. Even though he is sidelined this year, he is going to remain an important member of our team this fall.”
The sophomore appeared in 13 games and made three starts last season, and was expected to compete for a starting spot this season.
Sophomore Aaron Reeseis listed as the backup at right tackle on the Panthers' post-spring depth chart.
