Report: Clemson linebacker Kellen Jones transferring to Wisconsin
Clemson linebacker Kellen Jones will transfer to Wisconsin, according to a report from 247Sports.
Jones recorded 29 tackles in 13 games last season for the Tigers. He joins the Badgers with one year of eligibility left and will be able to play immediately as a graduate student, after obtaining a degree in economics from Clemson.
According to the report, he visited campus earlier in the week. Jones could compete for a starting spot immediately, as Wisconsin lost both of its starting inside linebackers from last season.
Jones spent two seasons at Clemson after transferring from Oklahoma, where he spent his freshman year in 2011. He sat out 2012 per transfer requirements, then suffered a season-ending ACL injury that caused him to miss most of the 2013 season.
Jones signed with Michigan out of high school as a four-star recruit, but instead enrolled at Oklahoma.
