Report: Oregon running back Thomas Tyner out for season
Oregon Ducks running back Thomas Tyner will miss the 2015 season after undergoing shoulder surgery, reports CSN's Aaron Fentress.
Tyner injured the shoulder last season during a kickoff return in the Ducks' seventh game of the season against Washington. He played through the injury the rest of the season, but "lingering pain and discomfort" necessitated the surgery, reports Fentress.
Tyner ran for 573 yards and five touchdowns last season, primarily as a backup to Royce Freeman. He started in Oregon's national championship game loss to Ohio State.
In his freshman season, Tyner was third on the team in rushing with 711 yards, and ran for nine touchdowns in 12 games.
Tyner, a junior, is expected to make a full recovery in time for next year.
