LSU senior point guard Josh Gray will not travel with the team on its upcoming trip to Australia due to a compliance issue, head coach Johnny Jones announced Monday

“Over the last 48 hours, we had a little bit of a setback with Josh Gray playing in some type of game that wasn’t sanctioned prior to checking with our compliance people,” Jones said, according to The Advocate. “Until compliance goes through whatever issues that they have to and filter things out, I won’t have any further comment on it.”

Jones would not elaborate on whether the issue will impact Gray’s future with the program.

Gray played in 31 games last season and made 20 starts after playing his first two college seasons at Odessa College, a junior college in Texas. He averaged 7.1 points in 2014–15 and was eighth in the SEC with 3.8 assists per game.

LSU will play five games against Australian pro teams on its tour, from Aug. 15-22.
