Notre Dame will be wearing a newly designed uniform while Boston College breaks out retro jerseys for the Nov. 21 Shamrock Series game at Fenway Park, the schools announced on Thursday.

The Boston College uniforms are a tribute to BC legend Doug Flutie's last-second touchdown pass to Gerald Phelan that gave the Eagles a 47–45 victory over 12th-ranked Miami in 1984. Boston College went on to win the Cotton Bowl later that year.

Boston College will wear solid gold-colored helmets, and the pants are very close in color to the team's look from the 80s. Classic Boston College logos will be placed where the old Cotton Bowl logos used to be on the jerseys.

Notre Dame has once again strayed from their traditional look for the Shamrock Series and will don green jersey. Shiny gold helmets will display the Fighting Irish mascot. Players will also be issued new cleats with a gold and green pattern.

Both schools are under contract with Under Armour.
