Wake Forest has dismissed senior guard Madison Jones from team
Wake Forest senior Madison Jones has been dismissed from the men's basketball team for a violation of undisclosed athletic department policy, head coach Danny Manning announced on Tuesday.
On March 24, Manning suspended Jones from all basketball related activity for unspecified reasons, stating that the upperclassman needed to “make better decisions and earn his way back.” The suspension was lifted on May 20. At the time, Manning stated that Jones had “made great strides” and anticipated those to carry out into his senior year.
The 6'1" guard played in all 32 games last season, starting in six. As a junior, Jones averaged 4.7 points and 3.0 assists in 21 minutes per game. No further comment was made regarding his dismissal.
