The first college football game of the 2015 season takes place on Saturday between reigning FCS champion North Dakota State and Montana

North Dakota State is ranked first in the AP's FCS preseason poll, coming off its fourth straight national championship. Despite losing head coach Craig Bohl to Wyoming and starting quarterback Brock Jensen to graduation last off-season, the Bison nearly ran the table in 2014 with a 15–1 record under head coach Chris Klieman.

Montana will play its first game under head coach Bob Stitt, who comes from the Colorado School of Mines after 15 seasons. Stitt is known for an unusual offensive style that's led him to be called "the next innovator" by USA Today. Montana was ranked as high as No. 4 last season and made it to the second round of the FCS playoffs before losing to No. 4 Eastern Washington.
