Ole Miss holds LT Laremy Tunsil out of opener due to NCAA investigation
No. 17 Ole Miss will sit their starting LT against UT Martin.
Ole Miss left tackle Laremy Tunsil will sit out of Saturday’s game against Tennessee-Martin while the NCAA investigates Tunsil for allegedly making improper contact with agents, the school announced.
In June, Tunsil’s stepfather, Lindsey Miller, told police that Tunsil was “riding around with agents” before he was arrested on domestic violence charges.
“We are cooperating fully with the NCAA and feel this is the best way to protect Laremy, our football program and the university,” Ole Miss said in the release
The school called the move a “precautionary measure.”
Tunsil was a preseason All-America selection. Ole Miss hosts UT-Martin on the SEC Network.
