How to watch Texas vs. Rice: Live stream, TV information
Texas's season began in disappointing fashion, with a 38–3 blowout loss to Notre Dame, spurring head coach Charlie Strong to reshuffle offensive coaching assignments. With receivers coach Jay Norvell now calling the offensive plays, the Longhorns head into Saturday's matchup with Rice looking to reboot their season and build positive momentum leading into the conference schedule at the end of the month.
Texas should improve on its 163 yards of offense from last week against a softer opponent: The Longhorns have topped the Owls by double digits in 11 of their past 12 meetings and are 40-2 against them since 1965.
Rice rushed for 401 yards and seven touchdowns as a team against lowly Wagner in Week 1's 56–16 win, but the Owls will face a tougher opponent in Texas. But with the Longhorns coming off a blowout loss, there could be an opportunity for Rice to steal a win.
