Illinois improved to 2–0 last week with a 44–0 win over Western Illinois. The Fighting Illini have now have outscored their opponent 96–3 across their two games. Wes Lunt went for 316 yards and a touchdown through the air, while the defense held Western Illinois to just 141 yards and five first downs.
North Carolina is 1–1 after a commanding 53–14 win over North Carolina A&T. They ran for four touchdowns—two of which came from sophomore Elija Hood, who has now run for 194 yards on the year.
This is North Carolina’s first regular season game against a Big Ten school since 2005, when the Tar Heels faced Wisconsin.
