The Maryland Terrapins and the South Florida Bulls are both seeking their second wins of the season in Week 3.

Maryland beat the Richmond Spiders 50–21 in the season opener before falling to Bowling Green 48–27 last week. At quarterback, the Terrapins will be starting redshirt junior Caleb Rowe over redshirt junior Perry Hills, who started Maryland's first two games of the season. Hills only completely 53 percent of his passes against Richmond and Bowling Green.

South Florida began its season with a 51–3 win over Florida A&M before losing a Week 2 matchup against FSU. The Bulls struggled against FSU's Dalvin Cook, who rushed for 266 yards and three touchdowns.
