Rutgers receiver Leonte Carroo was arrested by the Rutgers University Police Department on Saturday and charged with simple assault under domestic violence, according to Rutgers University chief of police Kenneth Cop.

According to a report from the Daily Targum, Rutgers's student newspaper, one of the women involved in the altercation was a recruiting ambassador who worked for the football program as a hostess for recruits on game days and at other events.

Coach Kyle Flood announced Sunday that Carroo had been suspended indefinitely after an incident that occurred outside Rutgers’ home field following the team’s 37–34 loss to Washington State.

Rutgers dismissed five football players on Sept. 5 after they were arrested on assault charges. On Friday, fullback Lloyd Terry was let go after he was arrested in connection to alleged home invasions.

Carroo, a senior, broke Rutgers's all-time receiving touchdowns record (22) in the team's season opener against Norfolk State.
