Class of 2016 four-star defensive back Troy Warner announced his commitment to BYU on Wednesday.

The San Marcos, Calif., native committed to the Cougars after visiting the Provo campus during BYU’s 35-24 victory over then-No. 20 Boise State. He was the third recruit to commit to the program over a four-day period. 

Warner’s older brother, Fred, is a sophomore linebacker at BYU and has recorded 10 solo tackles for the Cougars this season. 

Warner also holds offers from a number of Pac-12 schools, including UCLA, Stanford and Arizona.

BYU’s class of 2016 stands at 13 verbal commitments after adding Warner. He is the fourth defensive back in the class, joining Bountiful, Utah, prospect Maxwell Tooley as a four-star recruit at the position.

No. 19 BYU will play at No. 10 UCLA on Saturday.
