Ole Miss to wear 1988-style uniforms against Alabama
Ole Miss will wear 1988-style uniforms against Alabama on Saturday, the team announced Friday.
The throwback uniforms were worn by the Rebels the last time they beat the Crimson Tide at Bryant-Denny Stadium in Tuscaloosa, Ala.
On Oct. 8, 1988 the Rebels upset the Tide in what is now known as the Bill Curry “brick” game because an angered Alabama fan supposedly threw a brick at then-head coach Bill Curry's office window after the 22–12 loss.
Last season, Ole Miss took down Alabama 23–17 in Oxford, Miss., for just the program's ninth-ever win against the Tide.
This year, No. 15 Ole Miss has wins over the University of Tennessee at Martin and Fresno State, while No. 2 Alabama has defeated Wisconsin and Middle Tennessee to begin the season.
The Rebels and Crimson Tide will open their SEC slates on Saturday at 9:15 p.m. ET on ESPN.
