Boston College QB Darius Wade exits game vs. FSU on crutches
Boston College quarterback Darius Wade left Friday night's game against Florida State with an apparent knee injury.
The injury came in the fourth quarter as FSU's Nile Lawrence-Stample charged toward Wade to force a fumble that was overturned upon further review.
True freshman Jeff Smith entered the game as Wade's replacement. Troy Flutie, nephew of Boston College great Doug Flutie, also saw some action by running the option on a fourth down.
Wade entered Friday night's game having completed 17 of 30 passes for 185 yards and two touchdowns with no interceptions in two games. He completed four of 12 passes for 47 yards before being knocked out of action.
Florida State won 14-0. Boston College will play Illinois State at home on Sept. 26.
