Northern Illinois nearly pulled off the biggest upset of the season, falling to No. 1 Ohio State by just a touchdown in Week 3. The Huskies entered the locker room at halftime tied 10–10, but stalled after a Buckeyes field goal and a pick-six. Drew Hare finished with just 80 yards on 14 of 31 passing for Northern Illinois.
Boston College kept things interesting with No. 9 Florida State, eventually falling 14–0 after Seminoles cornerback Jalen Ramsey took a fumble back 36 yards for a fourth quarter score. Darius Wade just threw just 12 times, completing four passes for 47 yards with an interception. BC totaled just 195 yards and turned the ball over twice.
