Ole Miss linebacker C.J. Johnson had surgery on a torn meniscus in his left knee and is expected to miss up to six weeks, reports Daniel Paulling of The Clarion-Ledger

Johnson, who moved from defensive end to linebacker during the offseason, sustained the injury during the Rebels’ 38–10 loss to Florida on Saturday.

After missing the opening game of the year due to a suspension, Johnson has made 17 tackles and collected two interceptions through four games this season. The senior has 154 total tackles and 11.5 sacks in his collegiate career.

According to Paulling, junior Terry Caldwell is an option to get the start in Johnson’s absence.

The 14th-ranked Rebels (4–1) host New Mexico State (0–4) this Saturday at Vaught–Hemingway Stadium.
