Alabama freshman quarterback Blake Barnett has been hospitalized since Monday.

Alabama freshman quarterback Blake Barnett has been hospitalized since Monday, reports AL.com’s Matt Zenitz.

Barnett, who posted pictures on his various social media accounts of his hospital visit, reportedly underwent “multiple blood transfusions” on Tuesday.

The university declined to comment to AL.com on Barnett’s health status.

A five-start recruit out of Corona, Calif., Barnett was ranked the No. 21 overall prospect in 247Sports’ class of 2015. He was also named the MVP of the 2014 Elite 11 Quarterback Competition.

During training camp, Barnett fell behind fellow-Crimson Tide signal callers Jake Coker and Cooper Bateman in Alabama’s quarterback battle. He has not played this season.
