Arizona freshman forward Ray Smith out for season with knee injury
Arizona freshman forward Ray Smith will miss the upcoming season with a torn ACL in his right knee, the school confirmed Saturday.
Smith, who was the No. 17 recruit in the nation according to Rivals.com, reportedly sustained the injury while in practice earlier this week.
The 6’8”, 210-pound forward missed his senior year at Las Vegas High School after he tore his ACL in his left knee.
In his junior year at Las Vegas High School, Smith averaged 24.7 points and 6.0 rebounds per game.

The talented freshman was potentially in the running for a starting spot, after the Wildcats lost Stanley Johnson and Rondae Hollis-Jefferson to the NBA.
The Wildcats open their season on Nov. 13 against Pacific at home.
