Report: NCAA clears LSU freshman Antonio Blakeney
LSU freshman Antonio Blakeney has been cleared by the NCAA after being investigated for a workout video with a trainer, ESPN's Jeff Goodman reports.
The 6-foot-3, 180-pound Blakeney originally committed to Louisville in September but renounced his pledge less than two weeks later. The five-star recruit spoke to NCAA officials last month about a recruiting trip to Louisville following allegations in a new book that Cardinals basketball staff paid escorts to dance and have sex with players and recruits on visits.
Blakeney selected LSU over SEC rivals Kentucky and Missouri when he announced his new decision on Jan. 2.
LSU finished last season 22–11 and lost in the second round of the NCAA tournament. The Tigers open their 2015–16 campaign on Nov. 13 against McNeese State.
