Two quarterbacks from the same team own the top two single-game passing-yard totals in the country.

Cincinnati's Gunner Kiel threw for a career-high 523 yards and four touchdowns in his team's 33-30 loss to nationally ranked Houston on Saturday. The Bearcats' unhappy result largely was due to two interceptions Kiel threw and his inability to hit receivers on four straight passes on the game's final drive.

Freshman Hayden Moore still holds the nation's season high for passing yards, with a Cincinnati-record 557 in a 53-46 loss to Memphis on Sept. 24. Moore was pressed into duty late in the first quarter of that game when Kiel went out with a neck injury.

Luke Falk of Washington State is the only other quarterback who has passed for 500 yards in a game, having done it twice this season.

Some other notable statistics from this past weekend:

UNDER 60, FINALLY: Baylor's scoring average dropped below 60 points for the first time this season after its 31-24 win at Kansas State. The Bears' average slipped from 61.1 points to 57.4 - still almost 11 more than the next highest-scoring team, TCU.

RUN-PASS LEADERS: LSU's Leonard Fournette continues to hold a wide lead atop the rushing chart after being held to 31 yards on 19 carries by Alabama. Fournette is averaging 172.9 yards a game. Florida State's Dalvin Cook, who had 194 yards against Clemson, is second at 153.9. Washington State's Falk leads the nation in pass yards at 415.1 a game, about 6 more than Bowling Green's Matt Johnson.

TRADING PLACES: Baylor's Corey Coleman and TCU's Josh Doctson switched places atop the receiving chart. Coleman took a slight lead, with 147.3 yards a game, after catching 11 balls for 216 yards against Kansas State on Thursday night. Doctson was held to six catches for 64 yards against Oklahoma State, both season lows, and his average dipped to 146.1.

DEFENSIVE DANDIES: JT Jones of Miami (Ohio) and Michael Wakefield of Florida International each recorded four sacks. Jones' came against Eastern Michigan and Wakefield's against Charlotte. UCF's Dominic Spencer and South Alabama's Blake Dees each made 20 tackles, with Spencer massing his against Tulsa and Dees against Idaho.

PICK `EM: Nevada freshman Dameon Baber became the seventh player this season to intercept three passes in a game. He did it against Fresno State and now has six for the season.
