Penn ends Harvard's 22-game streak, wins 35-25
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. (AP) Justin Watson totaled 249 yards and two touchdowns, Penn's defense pitched a second-half shutout and the Quakers beat Harvard 35-25 on Saturday to end the Crimson's 22-game winning streak.
Penn (6-3, 5-1 Ivy League) took a 21-6 lead when Watson caught a 68-yard touchdown pass from Alek Torgersen near the end of the first quarter, but the Crimson scored three straight touchdowns to go into halftime with a 25-21 lead.
Torgersen hit Ryan Kelly for a 28-yard score out of the break to put the Quakers in front, and Watson's 79-yard TD run in the fourth gave Penn some breathing room.
Torgersen finished 17 of 26 for 245 yards and two touchdowns.
Harvard (8-1, 5-1) couldn't overcome self-inflicted wounds in the second half. Semar Smith had 62 yards rushing and a TD, but his fumble late in the fourth sealed the Crimson's fate. Scott Hosch had 246 yards with two touchdowns and one interception.
