Clemson lineman Daniel Stone proposes to girlfriend before Senior Day game
Before the Clemson Tigers took on the Wake Forest Demon Deacons Saturday afternoon, Clemson lineman Daniel Stone proposed to his girlfriend, Clemson graduate Morgan Helmendach, before his final game at Memorial Stadium.
According to Stone's Clemson Athletics bio, Stone was originally a walk-on who has been a reserve defensive end and offensive tackle for the Tigers. He is also a two-time ACC Academic Honor Roll member.
With Clemson holding a big lead in the fourth quarter, Stone was able to see some playing time, just the third game this season the Simpsonville, S.C.-native received on-field snaps. After the game, he said it was the "the best day of my life up to this point."
Clemson went on to defeat Wake Forest 33-13 to improve to 11-0 on the season for the first time since 1981, causing the students to rush the field and set off fireworks.
Not a bad way to cap off the day for the happy couple.
