Baylor QB Jarrett Stidham (broken ankle) out for season
Baylor quarterback Jarett Stidham will miss the rest of the season after breaking a bone in his ankle, the program confirmed to the Dallas Morning News Wednesday.
Stidham, a true freshman, started three games after Baylor star quarterback Seth Russell had season-ending neck surgery. In 10 games this season, including seven appearances late in blowout wins, Stidham has 1,265 passing yards with 12 touchdowns and two interceptions.
Baylor went 2–1 in Stidham’s three starts, with the one loss coming against Oklahoma in a game in which he threw two interceptions.
Redshirt sophomore Chris Johnson will start on Saturday against TCU. Johnson switched to wide receiver after Stidham was named as Russell’s backup, but moved back to quarterback after Russell’s injury.
