Houston coach Tom Herman says he will remain with Cougars
Houston coach Tom Herman said Monday he will remain with the Cougars as their head coach.
Herman, formerly an offensive coordinator at Ohio State, was rumored to be a head coaching target for some of the major programs with openings. Herman said Monday an agreement was in place for a new contract keeping him with Houston.
“These things take twists and turns along the way as they sometimes do, but I don't anticipate that happening,” Herman said at his weekly press conference.
Herman’s current contract pays him slightly less than $1.5 million a year. On Nov. 20, the school approved the athletic department to give Herman a raise to at least $3 million a year in a new contract.
