Toledo defenisve line coach Eli Rasheed joining Iowa State staff
Toledo defensive line coach Eli Rasheed is joining the staff of new Iowa State head coach Matt Campbell, according to a source.
Rasheed held his position with the Rockets for the last seven seasons. Before that, he coached defensive tackles at Florida Atlantic for five seasons.
An Indianapolis native, Rasheed was an assistant at Venice (Fla.) High from 2002–03 and held the same position at Booker High in Florida in ’01. He also coached the defensive line at Venice High from 1996–2000. Rasheed was a defensive lineman at Indiana from 1991–95.
Iowa State had a 3–9 record this season under former coach Paul Rhoads, who was fired last month. Campbell became the Cyclones’ coach a week later after four seasons at Toledo, where he had a 35–15 record, including a 9–2 mark this season.
