Four-star wide receiver Tyrie Cleveland has verbally committed to the University of Houston, he announced on Twitter on Thursday.

Cleveland was reportedly considering offers from Alabama, Arizona State, Baylor, Florida, Ole Miss, TCU and Texas A&M before electing to remain close to home.

The Westfield High School star and Houston native finished his senior season with 46 catches for 982 yards and 14 touchdowns. He recorded more than 1,000 yards as a junior and caught 13 touchdown passes.

Cleveland is the second Westfield star to commit to Houston, as high school teammate and defensive tackle Ed Oliver is also part of the Cougars’ 2016 recruiting class.

Houston coach Todd Herman expressed his excitement about Cleveland’s commitment on Twitter:

Houston’s 2016 recruiting class now comprises 20 players.
