Watch: Oregon State’s Gary Payton II skies for vicious jam

Gary Payton II continued to make himself known beyond his famous NBA father’s namesake, skying for a devastating jam in the first half of Oregon State’s loss to Kansas.

Payton went off a screen, took a dribble and went upward, over poor Cheick Diallo and finished his dunk so hard that the ball bounced back out of the rim before falling through the net.

The younger Payton, a senior, is currently projected as a second-round draft pick by DraftExpress.com.

Currently averaging 16.4 points, 8.1 rebounds, 4.9 assists, 3.3 steals and 1.1 blocks, Payton’s making a strong case as one of the nation’s best all-around guards. He may be one of its most athletic, too.
